Trail Cameras

Posted on 23. Mar, 2009 by admin in Photos, Products

Trail cameras have, in the last few years, become a huge part of hunting. Hunters use them not only to see what kinds of wildlife are in their area, but they also use them to see what time of day a certain buck or a flock of turkeys may be using a specific trail or food plot. Some cameras imprint time, date, and even temperature into the photos. There have been many improvements in the trail cameras we now have today. The first trail cameras used 35mm film and had to be developed. Soon came digital cameras that saved information to a memory card which could easily be viewed on a computer. The newest innovation is the use of video. No longer do hunters have to settle for still images that may be of a deer’s behind when what they really want to see is on the other end.

There are many companies out there that sell these products. If you are interested in getting a trail camera then you should check out the following sites for more information:

I don’t miss the days of having to develop film at all. I think video is one of the best improvements to digital game cameras in recent years. With the increased memory card sizes, I rarely take still pictures any more. I’ve recently purchased some infared cameras that shoot video in pure darkness. It is amazing how many more pictures you can get without a flash spooking your game. Now there are cellular game cameras hitting the market. What’s next?
